Search Agent

The Search Agent is a reverse search tool: instead of you browsing the catalogue filter by filter, you describe in plain language the machine you need and it does the work for you. It is ideal when you cannot find the exact machine through a normal search, when you are looking for something very specific or uncommon, or when you would rather be notified the moment a match appears than check the catalogue every day.

Unlike a manual search, the Agent takes your request (machine type, brand, technical specifications, budget) and keeps it active: it matches incoming listings against your criteria and can alert sellers who might have something similar. When something fits what you asked for, you will be notified.

Stepsโ€‹

  1. Log in to your account and open the Search Agent (Agente de bรบsqueda) from the catalogue.
  2. Describe in your own words the machine you are looking for: type or function, brand or manufacturer, relevant technical specifications (dimensions, power, year, condition) and, if you have one, a rough budget.
  3. The more specific you are, the better the matches. Also mention your region or area if location matters to you.
  4. Submit the request. From that point on, the Agent works in the background.
  5. When a matching machine appears, you will receive an alert by email and in your account. From there you can view the listing and take the next step.
tip

Be specific but not rigid: if you set too many conditions (exact brand + exact year + very low price), you will reduce the number of matches. Start with the essentials and refine from there.

Tipsโ€‹

  • Describe the machine as you would explain it to a colleague in the industry โ€” the Agent understands natural language.
  • Give a budget range rather than a fixed figure so you do not rule out good options.
  • If what you are looking for is very common, try the regular search first; the Agent really shines for hard-to-find equipment.

Common mistakesโ€‹

  • Requests that are too vague ("an industrial machine"): they do not provide enough information to surface useful matches.
  • Not checking notifications: alerts arrive by email and in your account; if you ignore them, you may miss an opportunity.
  • Expecting instant results: the Agent notifies you when something matching appears โ€” not necessarily right away.
